Help your child get a feel for numbers by taking photos
☺Challenge your child to take a photo with for example 'ten snowdrops', 'about thirty snowdrops'.
Help your child understand maths sums
☺Take turns to make up a sum to go with one of your photos. For example "four add two add one equals seven" Ask 'How many sums do you think we can make up?'
Help your child start to estimate
☺Take a photo of a big patch of snowdrops'.
★ Pass it on ★Have a guess ' how many' and then ask " How can we make our estimate more accurate?"

☺Look for the tallest snowdrop.
☺ Talk about snowdrop bulbs multiplying. For example say 'if you plant 10 bulbs one year by the next year there might be three times as many, how many would that be?'. Take turns to ask each other similar questions. (The rate at which the bulbs multiply varies)
